Sunrise Work Environment
Sunrise Inn is located at mile 45.5 on the Sterling Highway, in Cooper Landing. Cooper Landing is world renown for it's fishing, hiking, camping and many other outdoor sports. The café is nestled next to Kenai Lake in a wonderful valley with breath taking scenery, serving sandwiches, soups, and the best burgers and fries in town. There are 10 motel rooms that fill rapidly during the summer months. The bar next to the café gets busy on weekends with some of the best live music in Alaska.
The summers at Sunrise get extremely busy. It is non-stop from June through August and can be very demanding. Though it is a demanding job everyone seems to have fun. There are a lot of great people in the community; it’s a great town to meet new people and make great friends. We like to say our back yard is an outdoor lovers Disneyland. We offer on site housing for employees at a reasonable rate. The housing available is basic, a large trailer with individual rooms with a common bathroom and laundry facilities. There is also a campground that employees are welcome to rent for a special rate. The same bathroom and laundry facilities are also available to employee-campers.
We are looking for hard working individuals who can work well with others in a small kitchen area. We need employees who are light on their feet, can move and think clearly all day. We strive to keep things clean and the communication effective. We like to have fun but we take our work seriously. We are looking for individuals who like the seasonal work life style and we always love returnees.
Like any seasonal tourist town, we get extremely busy on weekends and holidays. We ask that if you would like to travel, please plan time before and after your work start and end dates because we can not promise more than two days off a week during our peak season. You need to be ready to work weekends and the holidays.
Please check our current openings.
